change-the-scheme wished upon a star that: // Hey guys, its meee. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to withdraw Castor from the group. It's not for anything bad at all. You all know I love DWRP dearly and I'm remaining here as Ariel and Jafar. I'm taking this flamboyant bastard out just so I can write at my own pace and continue threading with my Rinzler. I wonder if I can affiliate with the group instead? Love you guys!
Of course love we’d love to have you affiliate!

championofthearena wished upon a star that: Hey guys. I know I've been away for some time, and I apologize for that. I just haven't been feeling up to writing lately. For now, I'm going to resign my role as Rinzler. I feel like it should go to someone who can be available more often than myself. I will be keeping this account, I just wont be on as often. I hope those that I've befriended here will continue to follow me and interact with me where/when they can. Thanks for having me here, everyone. It's been a pleasure. Maybe I'll return!
Sad to hear you go but remeber you’re welcome back any time!

So the new rule change was met with some hostility and we were going to have a group meeting tonight to further talk about it but have changed out minds. The change was one that was done back in January after Mickey-mun had returned from her hiatus, but because of personal issues they completely forgot to change it. Which meant that people coming in didn’t know.
When the group was established the only rule about roleplaying outside the group was that you weren’t allowed to roleplay with a duplicate from your movie.
It was then changed to you can’t roleplay with any character from your movie whether we had them or not. This was to seem more open to people who might have wanted to audition for x-character only to see that people were already roleplaying with an indie x-character.
I’m sure you can see were the trouble lies there.
Mickey and Donald were too lenient and allowed the roleplaying outside of group because we didn’t want to ruin your fun. However, the group is slowly gaining characters and we’ve become a pretty big bunch. That’s amazing in itself but it also means we’ll have to actually start to enforce the rules.
We can’t stress enough how important the rules are and we want everyone to become familiar with them as soon as possible. Then again, we want everyone to be happy and although Donald and I were honestly just trying to look out for you guys it seems that maybe we’re looking too much.
We shouldn’t babysit you because everyone here is treated with the same respect no matter if their mods, members, main protagonists or side characters. No one is more important than the others.
Take it from Mickey who’s been on the warning lists for not being active (and I founded the group!) Donald doesn’t play and from now on, neither will I.

Remember that Donald and I are here for you. Do not ever think your problems don’t matter and do not be scared to come talk to us. Donald and I are on skype basically everyday and if you don’t find one you’ll find the other 99% of the time.

Long story short, now that we have a little background, There is a NEW new changed to the first golden rule of DWRP.
From now on, you are ALLOWED to roleplay with people outside the group UNLESS we have them in the group already.
As an example (one that I won’t have to change everytime someone leaves), You can’t roleplay with another Rapunzel. No exceptions.
We have one in the group so you should be paying attention to THAT one.
This give YOU the liberty to roleplay around BUT, WE ARE NO LONGER RESPONSIBLE FOR MESSAGING PEOPLE FOR YOU TO TELL THEM THEY CAN NO LONGER RP WITH GROUP MEMBERS.
AGAIN. NOT. OUR. DIVISION.
You need to take the responsibility yourself. If you find yourself roleplaying with someone and we get that character in the group. So sorry we wish you luck on your endeavors.
From the START you should be telling people that you’re in a group, the group has rules and the ONLY WAY you can truly plot together is by them committing to the group.
Unless they’re ocs or nondisney you shouldn’t be plotting anything that can have a lasting effect on your character.
As another example, Rapunzel can’t suddenly become an apprentice under Yen Sid.
So that’s the rule. You can’t roleplay with a duplicate at all and if you roleplay outside the group with other Disney characters you have to make clear that you can’t plot any lasting relationships with them and there might come a time that you can’t roleplay at all.
If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. Thank you for your time.

We have received a few concerns about group members creating fandom-verse headcanons without discussing it with other group members from their fandom. DWRP rules clearly state that:
When joining the group you accept the fact that you are inserting yourself into the plot already at work. It won’t necessarily be the movie verse so we suggest that you talk to the members already in the group to be caught up.
This means that you should always, always, interact with your fellow fandom characters when you first join the group (to be up to date with how current the time period is to the movie) and with any headcanons that could affect other characters.
So please. Talk to your fellow members! We don’t want any hurt feelings!

This rule, however, does not apply to OC’s of a fandom. You are free to interact with OC’s of your fandom as much as you please, but if they are movie canonand they can audition for DWRP, then you are not allowed to interact with them.
Should be,
This rule, however, does not apply to OC’s of a fandom. You are free to interact with OC’s of your fandom as much as you please, but if they are canon (ANY CANON INCLUDING BOOK, MOVIE, TELEVISION, VIDEOGAME) and they can audition for DWRP, then you are not allowed to interact with them.
Anonymous wished upon a star that: Can I ask about the recent change to the mirror characters rule? I mean I know before it was only mirror characters....but now it's anyone from your movie/fandom? I feel like that will negatively affect people who are in this group that are part of larger fandoms beyond just Disney or even who have rather large fandoms within Disney. I mean is it yet to be discussed or is that just something that's set in stone now?
Although it hasn’t officially been announced yet, yes. We are changing the Character Interaction rule here at DWRP. We will make the official announcement this weekend, but the changes are as follows:
Members will not be able to interact with duplicate characters from their movies, books, videogames, etc… Whether we have the character in DWRP or not.
For example… We do not have a Mr. Incredible in the group at the moment, but Syndrome would not be able to interact with an Independent Incredible account or a Mr. Incredible from another group. They would have to wait until we get one here in DWRP.
To be honest, this has been a rule since January. It’s just that no one has really followed it, and the mods have been incredibly lenient. So we’re going to clearly state it so that all members can now see it, and follow it. The reason it is being brought up now is because the recent increase in members of our group, and we want to address rules before they get out of hand.
Members are not allowed to interact with mirror characters, period. If we have that character as a member of DWRP, you must interact with them and not a duplicate.
This rule is just common courtesy. If we have a Peter Pan in the group, it wouldn’t be fair for someone to be forming major plots with a Peter who is not part of DWRP. Feelings will get hurt, and things would just get very confusing and messy. So we have this rule instated for the well-being of our members. We are a family, first and foremost.
As to your question. We have run both of these rules by a handful of our members. While they said that there would be some chaos to the “you can’t interact with characters of your fandom who is not a part of DWRP” rule, they understood that it was necessary for the future.
Example. I’ll use Syndrome again. It’s pretty common that most of your intense threads will include characters from your own movie. So, say that Syndrome starts to form major plots with a Mr. Incredible who is an independent, and then we receive a Mr. Incredible here in DWRP. Syndrome would then have to then drop all of their current plots with the Independent Incredible, and would then explain to them that they can no longer interact. This is why the rule is necessary.
Another reason we have this rule is because, if said independent really wants to interact with your character, they may have a stronger desire to join our group.
This rule, however, does not apply to OC’s of a fandom. You are free to interact with OC’s of your fandom as much as you please, but if they are canon (movie, book, television, game adaptations) and they can audition for DWRP, then you are not allowed to interact with them.
Really, folks, these rules are incredibly simple. And they are more for common courtesy than anything. We don’t want you to think we are being incredibly strict with these, because we’re not. We just don’t want any hurt feelings within the group, and with these rules, it will greatly eliminate that. We could easily say “you can only interact with members in DWRP” but we do not want to do that. (Nor will we ever do that).
So, to summarize. Syndrome cannot interact with a Mr. Incredible (because they are from the same movie. He can, however, interact with an independent Tiana. Until we get her in the group, that is.
If you have any further questions… Please… Come off anon and discuss it with your mods. Thank you.

Anonymous wished upon a star that: How open are you to members appealing rule changes or discussions with them about it?
We are very open to it. After all, we always discuss with our members and bring in their input before we add/change a rule. So the group’s advice and discussions on the subject are more than welcome!

After you submit an audition, if you do not receive a message from one of the mods stating that we have received it… Then we don’t have your audition! Please, do not be afraid to message us for confirmation on the status of your audition! We want to keep you, the auditioner, as up to date as possible - And if we didn’t receive an audition, we want to let you know ASAP!
